The Esoteric Whale
Relative Hardship

As we’re burning through my buffer of drawings, they begin to get more relevant to my life. While this particular picture of EW isn’t directed as encouragement to myself, he is expressing something that is good for anyone to keep in mind on a crappy day. So even when you’re in piles of debt, and your dog just died; odds are there is a guy in Mena, Arkansas who has it worse than you.
I’m really excited to show you the newer drawings I’ve been working on. I already feel like I can draw EW in a lot of positions and with relative ease, so now I’ve moved towards adding detail and texture. Eventually, I’ll go more in the direction of dialogue and story-telling (that’s the plan, anyway), but for now I want to get my art a bit more consistent and appealing. Or maybe I should just paint what I feel, like Jeff Tweedy says I should.
Feel (more than) free to bookmark the site and come back often. I’ll have something up every Monday, Wednesday & Friday; and almost always something up over the weekend. You rock!
